CAM'S GEMINI DRAG CAR

Cam's Gemini has been in the build stage for about 12 months now and has seen alot of custom work done as obviously being a Gemini there is limited "off the shelf" items available.

The engine is a SOHC isuzu 1.8L that has been seriously worked over, featuring custom turbo spec bottom end, 1.6L big valve head, custom turbo spec cam shaft & double row timing chain. Feeding the engine is a custom made EFI plenum running 1600cc injectors and being controlled by a MircoTec computer. Also bolted to the engine is an Intercooled turbo setup & a 100hp Nitros Oxide kit.

This Gemini was dyno'd before christmas and made 242kw at the wheels which will be enough to send it down the 1/4 mile at a mid 10 second pass. With ongoing tunning and a few more mods we aim to see the Gemini run constant 9.8's with the intention of running a 9.5 second quarter.

Sending the power to rear wheels is a strengthend 3 speed trimatic fitted with a 5500rpm stall converter & transbrake.

Rear diff setup is stock gemini diff housing fitted with modified axles a spool centre.

Brakes are stock gemini setup with the aid of Bendix Ultimate performance brake pads, DBA slotted disc rotors, braided brake lines and a parachute on the rear to meet drag racing requirements when posting a 1/4 mile time quiker than 9.99seconds.

For saftey's sake the gemini has been fitted with a full roll cage and 5 point saftey harness.


The gemini was run a few months ago for its first outing at heathcote and ran 11.3 @ 120mph which was a great starting point for the first time after the build. The car is currently getting a new coat of paint and then we will take it out again and push it a little harder to crack a 10 second pass.

JOHN'S VU COMMODORE DRAG RACING UTE

John's Commodore ute has undergone a dramatic transformation over the last 12 months from a daily driven work ute to now a dedicated drag racing ute.

Thanks to the ongoing support, engine work and tunning from Rob, Matt and the boys at The Horsepower Factory in Dandenong his last meeting at Heathcote Park Raceway produced his best time of 11.3sec @ 120mph from the naturally aspirated 5.7L Gen3 LS1 V8. 

John hopes to get the ute into the 10 second bracket over the next 12 months with more engine work and a NOS kit.

With the current setup the ute is making 322rwkw which has sent it down the 1/4 mile at 120mph and achieving a best time of 11.3 seconds.
